The world’s first amphibious ice-cream van’s journey from sea trials, to choppy seas in Blackpool to London’s serene River Thames. It will tour the beaches of the UK and the canals of Venice next year.
Britain’s ice cream vans have been driven off the road by rising fuel costs and council red tape. In many areas there are ‘exclusion zones’ and vans are not allowed to sound their chimes for longer than four seconds! In the 60’s there were 20,000 ice cream vans but today that has dropped to just 5,000.
