The Peugeot SxC concept was designed in China, at the Peugeot Style Studios of the China Tech Centre in Shanghai. The SxC concept forms part of Peugeot’s strategy to further enhance their presence in China, the world’s largest car market. The name itself, SxC, stands for; Shanghai Cross Concept. Powering the SxC concept is a hybrid drivetrain consisting of a 1.6 litre gasoline engine delivering 218 horsepower to the front wheels, and a 95 horsepower electric motor driving the rear wheels. With this drivetrain – with the potential for a 313 hp total output – the SxC offers a a combined fuel consumption of 48.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of 143 g/km. Additionally it can be driven in pure electric mode at lower speeds.
