The new Corvette ZR1 actually exceeds the speed of 341 km/h and reaches a maximum of 345.81 km/h during the first test.
2019 The New Corvette ZR1 is the fastest and most powerful edition of this line ever. Chevrolet has just released the latest video in which we can see a car reaching its highest racing speed of 341 km/h.
Since such speeds require a lot of space, Chevrolet traveled to Germany to give full freedom to the ATP oval high-speed track, spanning a length of 12.3 kilometers. The car actually exceeds the speed of 341 km/h and reaches a maximum of 345.81 km/h during the first test.
During the second attempt, when the car traveled in a different direction, it successfully developed a speed of 338.28 km/h. The maximum speed of this track is calculated by the average of these two digits, which finally led to a result of 342.04 km/h.
These figures clearly set the New Corvette ZR1 model in the supercar’s territory. It looks that is fast as the Ferrari 488 GTB or the Lamborghini Huracán Performante. In fact, this car has the same maximum speed as the McLaren 720S, which costs considerably more.
Engineers equipped the new Corvette ZR1 with exclusive LT5 V8 supercharged 6.2 liter engine that develops 755 hp and 968 Nm of torque. It was done in order to reach these impressive speeds. This engine can be connected to a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
In addition to the powerful engine, the ZR1 has four new radiators, a carbon hood and aerodynamic bodywork equipment. The standard aero equipment package allows the car to reach its maximum speed, but its manufacturer also offers optional ZTK performance packs. The latter include the front splitter, rear-mounted suspension. Features also Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and adaptive High Wing equipment that provides about 430 kilograms of thrust force.
