Vision Urbanetic is Mercedes’s new visionary mobility concept for urban areas, where the chassis can receive various bodywork versions.
What this Mercedes Benz concept is characterized by is a chassis where it is possible to place various types of upgrades (passenger, cargo, etc.), depending on the needs of transportation, and the vehicle, as it is nowadays expected from futuristic studies, is completely autonomous and electrically powered.
A passenger “container” can accommodate up to 12 adults, sitting on the “bench” that goes into circles, while a 10-euro pallet can be loaded in a transport version, which has a capacity of 10 cubic meters. What also needs to be emphasized is that the chassis itself can move independently from one location to another, when it is necessary to change the upgrade.
Mercedes-Benz Vans at the commercial vehicle fair in Hanover presents its Vision Urbanetic, a revolutionary concept of mobility that, according to the factory announcement, goes beyond existing ideas about autonomous vehicles. It facilitates the sustainable and efficient movement of people and goods, and it implements an innovative approach to meeting the needs of cities, companies from different sectors, as well as urban residents and travelers. The concept facilitates movement within urban infrastructure and contributes to the improvement of the quality of the urban environment.
The computer system Vision Urbanetica takes care of the moving route, with planned stopping points in order to bring or pick up passengers or goods, and on the basis of real-time traffic data, also plans alternative routes independently to avoid unwanted congestion.
